THE University of Worcester is saying goodbye to an historic building this summer - and the news has prompted an outpouring of nostalgia.
The demolition of the Bredon building will make way for a new car park to help reduce parking issues around the St Johns campus on the University.
The University of Worcester's Facebook page asked staff and alumni to share their memories of the building, which had been used as teaching rooms, residence, offices and a nursery since it was opened in 1946.
The picture garnered dozens of memories.
One commenter said: "Three years at undergraduate, six years at postgraduate and several jobs with offices in that building.
"So many happy memories, experiences and life-long friendships. I spent so much time there that Bredon felt like my academic home."
Another former student said: "Had my first ever screenwriting lecture in there on the Monday morning, and submitted my final essay in the box just inside the main entrance three years later.
"Basically started and finished my uni education in the same building."
The car park that is set to replace Bredon will hold 59 cars, but will not have any marked spaces or lighting fixtures. It will be used for temporary parking while the University explores other possibilities for a more permanent location.
