Plans to convert a garage into self-contained accommodation have been rejected by the council.
The owners of a house in Hayling Close, St Peter’s, had wanted to convert the garage, which is detached from the property.
But neighbours had complained about a lack of parking provision at the property, which they say it used as a house of multiple occupancy (HMO).
City planning officers refused the application. They had concerns over a lack of amenity space for future residents, a lack of parking and said the proposal failed to comply with Nationally Described Space Standards, which set out the minimum size requirements for one-bedroom flats.
