A NEW street market has been launched in Pershore.

The first Pershore Broad Street Market took place on June 1, marking a new era for community engagement and commerce in the town.

The market, located in the heart of Pershore, generated a "fantastic" response from the town's residents, and visitors, according to Pershore Place Board, which organised the event.

There were a range of stalls, with many experiencing unprecedented success and selling out of their products.

From baked goods to farm-fresh produce, artisanal crafts, and plants grown in the town, the market showcased a variety of Pershore's produce.

Darren Eden, chair of Pershore Place Board, said: "We are thrilled by the turnout at the launch of Pershore Broad Street Market.

"It's wonderful to witness the community come together to support local producers.

"We want to thank all who joined us in making this event a success."

All participating stalls hail from within a 10-mile radius of Pershore. This aims to ensure every purchase made contributes directly to the town's economy.

The market is a collaborative effort, made possible through funding from Wychavon District Council and facilitated by Pershore Events and Festivals Association, with sponsorship from Pershore Place Board.

The market is not-for-profit, with all surplus funds dedicated to supporting Pershore's annual calendar of events.

The next Pershore Broad Street Market is scheduled for Saturday, July, 6.

Further events will take place on August 3, October 5, and November 2 this year.

Pershore Broad Street Market is held in Broad Street - the traditional location of the Pershore outdoor market site since the 1200s.

Pershore Place Board consists of Pershore based volunteers, across a wide selection of professional backgrounds, who have been specifically selected to ensure a comprehensive approach to the delivery of economic, cultural, and social development in the town.

They operate on an impartial and non-political basis to research, consider and make recommendations to Wychavon District Council and other bodies, in order to achieve the board’s purpose.

The Pershore Place Board meets monthly at different locations throughout the town.
