Music and art will be celebrated at an upcoming summer festival in Worcester.

On Saturday, June 29th, Severn Arts will host the festival at venues across the city, namely the Guildhall, Arch 27, and Scripthaven.

Laura Worsfold, CEO of the organisation, described the event as a "creativity takeover" of the city centre.

Entry to the summer festival is free, and will be open from 10am to 4pm.

The festival will feature performances by music centre groups, orchestras, and bands, including the Soundabout Choir and Worcestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra.

In addition to music, the festival will showcase the Young Voices New Visions Exhibition at the Guildhall, and the Young Poet Laureate program's talents at Scripthaven.

Refreshments will be available from Coffee Nook.

Ian Hattersley, music leader at the organisation, said: "Around 300 musicians between the ages of 7 to 21 from the different groups will perform an eclectic selection of music throughout the day.

"Don’t miss this wonderful musical extravaganza."

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Severn Arts Music Box at Arch 27, where they can have a go at using cutting-edge music equipment.
