A CAR has been torched in a suspected arson attack in the early hours of the morning. 

It was parked on Tybridge Street and was 'well alight' by the time the fire service arrived. 

One fire engine was called in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

A firefighter used a hosereel jet and a thermal imaging camera to put out the fire in just over on hour.

Police attended the incident as the firefighters suspected that it might be arson. 

A spokesperson for the Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "One crew from Worcester Fire Station was called at 2.13am on June 5 to a small vehicle on fire in Tybridge Street, Worcester.

"A car was well alight and extinguished by one firefighter wearing breathing apparatus and using a hosereel jet.

"A thermal imaging camera was also used to check for hot spots.

"There were no casualties."
