POLICE have caught several speeding drivers on a major Worcester road after concerns from the community. 

Roads policing officers from West Mercia Police spent their weekend patrolling the A4440 in Worcester. 

Over Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2, officers caught 16 motorists speeding on the road. 

A West Mercia Police road safety team spokesperson said: "Our roads policing officers carried out operational activity along the A4440 in Worcester over the last weekend following community concerns around speeding and anti-social driving.

"Sixteen motorists were issued with notices for excess speed."
