Jeremy Clarkson has responded to a letter inviting him to join a retirement village in the Cotswolds.
The TV celebrity, who lives in the Cotswolds, posted a picture of the invitation from Brio Retirement Living on Instagram.
Using words that are not printable, Mr Clarkson refused.
A spokesperson for Brio Retirement Living who sent the invitation, said: "We wholeheartedly apologise to Mr Clarkson for sending him an invitation to our luxurious development in Stow-on-the-Wold.
"We obviously know Diddly Squat and about his future retirement plans.
"It seems that our inclusive fun retirement village for youthful older people isn’t for him.
"Knowing his views on electric cars we know he wouldn’t like our EV charging points either.
"Saying that, we have reached out to Mr Clarkson to offer him our apologies in person over a drink in our onsite Slate & Grain Brasserie, Bar and Coffee Lounge – and he’s more than welcome to take a look around our properties and meet our very happy homeowners.
"On that bombshell … we know he’s very vocal on Instagram and we’re all hoping for a follow too."
The invitation was to Beechwood Park in Stow.
