AN 'unusually' large police presence in the city centre during the early hours of this morning.
An eyewitness claims police were shouting "drop the weapon now" and said it was unusual to see so many police vehicles at the junction.
Four police vans and a police car could be seen in The Cross near McDonald's at about 3am (today).
The eyewitness said: "[There were] loads of police at Foregate street at 3 o’clock this morning."
"I'm not sure what happened and it’s very unusual to see this many vans."
Earlier in the day, a crash in The Cross caused long tailbacks of traffic.
Worcester News has contacted West Mercia Police for more information and will update the story when we have received a response.
The eyewitness also reported they could hear loud shouting in the area too.
They added: "Police were shouting at someone what I heard was 'drop the weapon now'."
