A DRIVER has been hit in the pocket after being caught speeding in Pershore as a court ordered him to pay out more than £500.
Michael Duncan, 26, of Bridge Street, Pershore, was handed a fine and penalty points for speeding when his case was heard at Worcester Magistrates Court on May 16.
He was caught exceeding the 30mph speed limit on the A4104 Station Road in Pershore on November 10 last year. A guilty plea was entered by way of the single justice procedure.
Magistrates fined him £323, ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £129 and costs of £90 (£542 in total).
A collection order was made by the court, providing further powers to recover the money and Duncan's licence was endorsed with six points. The defendant's guilty plea taken into account when imposing sentence.
