A MAN whose dog was seized by police after an 'attack' says he's "stuck" without him and is "praying" for him to be returned.
Ian Walker from Abberley, who suffered a brain injury after a motorcycle incident in 2017, said he relies on his beloved assistance dog Thor for support.
However, following an alleged dog attack at Rubery Farm Foods' car park, his 20-month-old Dogue de Bordeaux was seized by police.
Mr Walker has claimed a cocker spaniel first attacked Thor, but a woman ended up needing hospital treatment, according to police, which led to officers seizing the dog.
West Mercia Police confirmed on Friday (May 24) that the dog is still with officers.
Mr Walker, aged 55, said: "I want him back. He's there to look after me and help me.
"Until yesterday I have not been out of the house.
"I'm stuck without him, I've been going round in circles".
On April 27, the day of the incident, he said he stopped in the Farm Foods car park and undid Thor’s seatbelt to put the dog's jacket on.
He claims he was distracted while talking to a woman who had a cocker spaniel and seconds later Thor jumped out the back of his car and went around to them.
He claimed the spaniel had a go at Thor, and his dog got the smaller dog around the harness, holding on to it.
Mr Walker said after he had got hold of Thor, he let go, and after telling him off he picked Thor up and put him in the back of the car.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said officers were called to Farm Foods at around 6.10pm on April 27 following a report a woman had been bitten by a dog outside of the store.
The woman was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with injuries.
The dog was seized by officers on Wednesday, May 1 and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
