A NEW Worcester festival is set to bring the magic of creativity to people across the city this half-term.

The first-ever CreARTivity festival will get under way tomorrow (Sunday) and will run until next Friday, May 31.

It will feature a mixture of comedy, literature, music and art.

The festival was the brainchild of the Script Haven bookshop on Worcester's High Street, which will host most of the events.

Several other independent businesses have also jumped on board.

Script Haven owner and former Worcestershire Poet Laureate Leena Batchelor said: “The creARTivity Festival is designed to bring the magic and fire of creativity, in all its forms, to everyone.

“Engaging with creativity is an essential part of emotional and mental well-being, providing an outlet for emotions, tools for understanding and empathy, and a much needed pause in today's busy society.”
