A MAN has been jailed after his car hit a 70-year-old woman.
Marius Barci, aged 21 of no fixed abode, was jailed for 28 months for driving without insurance and for failing to stop after a road accident.
He is also disqualified from driving for 38 months and he must take an extended re-test until he passes.
The incident took place on Thursday, March 21 at around 11am on Bridge Street, Evesham, between the woman and a grey Ford Kuga driven by Barci.
The woman was crossing the road with her partner and their two dogs, and the vehicle failed to stop.
The same day, a grey Ford Kuga was seen turning into Monks Walk and the driver was seen walking away and onto Bridge Street.
Minutes later, he was seen walking back to his car, and seconds after that the grey Ford Kuga driven by the 21-year-old hit the woman.
He failed to stop and drove away, going through a red light, but his vehicle was later seen being driven around in Evesham.
The suspect attempted to flee the address after a warrant was executed at 6am on Friday, March 29.
Upon investigation, he was found driving the grey Ford Kuga with a mobile phone in his hand.
