A MAN has been taken to hospital with knife injuries after an attack in a city estate.

The 18-year-old was attacked on Canterbury Road in Ronkswood when the incident took place on Saturday (May 11).

The man's injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We were called to Canterbury Road at around 10.30pm on Saturday night following a report of an assault.

"An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with knife injuries which were not life-threatening.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."

Police were knocking on doors on both Saturday evening and Sunday to request any ring doorbell footage that may be useful in their investigation.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing on Canterbury Road at 10.24pm on Saturday night, one ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man. He was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to hospital."

Gwen Hughes, who lives in Norwich Road, was unaware of the alleged incident but confirmed that police had knocked on her door for information.

"Police have been knocking on doors along the road, there are about three to four police officers," she said.

"They have been asking if we heard anything at around 10.30pm last night.

"I was watching television at the time it happened. A neighbour said that there was someone going through people's gardens with torches.

"It's frightening to think I was just watching television and that was going on outside."
