AN award-winning music festival will be celebrating its 10th year of providing Worcestershire with toe-tapping tunes in a bid to raise money for charity.
The popular Woo Fest, a family-friendly music festival, will return for another year of raising money and celebrating local talent at Drum & Monkey in Upton.
The festival was created by Luke and Ria Simons in memory of their dad, John Simons, who was cared for by St Richard’s before he died ten years ago.
Since then, the festival has become a Worcestershire staple and has raised thousands for St Richard’s Hospice.
The event was even voted the UK’s Best Small Festival at the National Festival Awards in 2019 and again in 2022.
Woo Fest will be back this year between July 5 and 6 and will feature various genres, from acoustic to rock covers and blues to modern hits.
The lineup for this year's Woo Fest is still to be announced by organisers, who said there are lots of activities already booked.
There will be a play area with a bouncy castle and slide, Jungle Jiggle, Forest school, crafts, and face painting for children at the event.
A range of food stands will also be offered, including a selection of pizzas, wraps, burgers and a hog roast, all created by Woo Fest chefs.
The tickets for the festival are now on sale, and 100% of every ticket will go straight to St Richard’s Hospice.
Over the years, Luke and Ria Simons have raised over £110,000 for St Richards Hospice by hosting the annual event.
The event is supported by local businesses to help keep costs down while musicians performing on two stages give up their time during the weekend.
The past two years the event has sold out.
