Golfers are being invited to a charity golf day to raise funds for a local hospice this May.
St Richard’s Hospice in Evesham is hosting their charity golf tournament on May 17 at The Vale Golf Club, with a 9.30am start time.
The event, sponsored by Hallmark Whatley Hulme, Handelsbanken, and Whiting Landscape, offers teams of four the chance to play 18 holes, followed by a two-course meal, an award ceremony, bid in an auction and participate in a raffle.
Teams will be served bacon rolls, tea, and coffee upon arrival. The top three teams, longest drive, nearest the pin, and a twos competition will be honoured in a prize-giving event post-dinner.
The shotgun start is at 11am. Booking a team costs £350 and can be done online. Each year, St Richard’s Hospice supports more than 3,100 patients, family members, and the bereaved.
Ria Simons, Corporate Fundraising Lead at St Richard’s, said: "We are really looking forward to a great day of golf, raising funds for our care!
"Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who joins us for this event, helping make a difference to the lives of those we care for."
Julian Powell, Business Director at Hallmark Whatley Hulme, said: "Having supported this event for more than two decades, we are proud to sponsor the hospice’s Golf Day in the charity’s 40th anniversary year.
"It is always a fantastic day of friendly competition, while raising much-needed funds for the hospice’s care.
"We are delighted to continue our support for St Richard’s and the work its teams do to support patients and families across our community."
The hospice provides free care to adults with incurable illnesses, funded mostly by voluntary donations and events such as this golf day and remainder by the NHS.
Running the hospice this year will cost approximately £12m, inclusive of patient care and all necessary support services.
