A PERSON has been rescued after a narrow boat became stuck near a bridge in Worcestershire.
Fire crews were called at 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday) to Eckington Bridge in Pershore when a boat was stuck against the bridge.
The boat owner was rescued by water first responders, boat crews and a service drone also sent to the site.
The boat was removed from the bridge and moved to a safe location.
The boat owner was taken to hospital by a friend, with the incident closed at 7.14pm.
A spokesperson from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Evesham Fire Station, water first responders from Malvern, boat crews from Evesham and Worcester and the Service drone from Ledbury were called at 5.31pm on April 30 to a rescue of a person from a boat at Eckington Bridge, Pershore.
"A narrow boat was stuck against the bridge with the owner on board.
"The boat was removed from the bridge by fire service personnel and moved to a safe location.
"The boat owner was taken to hospital by a friend.
"No other emergency services attended but police (log 799) were advised.
"The incident was marked as pending closure at 7.14pm."
