TWO people have been rescued after a car became stuck in a ford in Worcestershire.
The incident happened on Earls Common Road near Droitwich at around 13.26pm today (Sunday).
The lane was blocked by police in both directions near the Shell Ford.
West Mercia Police put out a brief statement on X (formally Twitter) that said: "Following an incident at Shell Ford, the road is completely impassable and cannot be accessed at all.
"Please do not risk your safety or your vehicle and avoid this area."
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service has now confirmed that a vehicle was stuck in the ford and that two people were rescued from the car.
A spokesperson said: "We were called at 13.26pm to a car stuck in the ford.
"Crews from Droitwich, Worcester and Evesham attended, along with police and ambulance.
"We rescued two adults from vehicle who were left in the care of the ambulance crew.
"The road is closed due to flood water."
