REVEALED: The county council have explained the story behind an unusual road sign.
The sign in question reads "Sat nav users road ahead closed", despite no roads being closed.
It is located on the roundabout exit towards Upper Moor on the A44.
The council have explained that the sign was put up as part of a traffic regulation order to stop vehicles travelling through Upper Moor upon completion of the Wyre Piddle bypass.
A spokesperson for the Worcestershire County Council said: "The Traffic Regulation Order on Evesham Road, Upper Moor allows access along that route for buses only.
"The yellow-backed sign to advise that the 'road ahead is closed' was installed to support the Traffic Regulation Order signs on site, as prior to the opening of the Wyre Piddle bypass, all vehicles would have been able to travel via this route."
