A LOUD bang had people running into the street after two vans crashed into a pub and a wall leaving one man hurt.

Police blocked the road as firefighters freed the two vans which had crashed opposite each other, a grey Ford Transit going into the side of The Bridge pub.

A white Renault Iveco also smashed into a wall at about 10.10am this morning (Thursday) in Lowesmoor Terrace.

A nearby resident said they heard the crash as the unfolded.

“I thought what’s just happened and came running out," they said.

"I called the police to report it."

Another resident said they were "happy to see everyone was okay" having looked out of her window at the scene of the crash.

City businesses were affected by the road closure.

Furry Friends and Elvikom Lab employees said they had to park elsewhere as they arrived at the scene.

"It looked bad, it had proper smashed into the wall," one said.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We received a call around 10.10am this morning (25 April) with a report of a collision on Lowesmoor Terrace in Worcester.

"Officers attended the incident to find one van had collided with The Bridge pub and another van had collided with a property opposite.

"Thankfully, at present no injuries to report and officers will remain on scene until recovery of the vehicles is complete."

An employee of Auto Tyre and Battery said the road had been closed for around one hour and had been relaying off information that customers had told him.

"We are waiting or a delivery to come down but they've been held up by the road being blocked."

Ambulance crews confirmed one man was treated for minor injuries but was discharged at the scene.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an RTC on Lowesmoor Terrace at 10.14am, one ambulance attended.

"On arrival we discovered two vans, one that had crashed into a building and one that had crashed into a wall.

"We assessed and treated one patient for minor injuries, a man, who was discharged at the scene."
