A PUB popular with rugby players and fans has closed until further notice due to 'unforeseen circumstances' according to signs in several of its windows.
The Mount Pleasant Inn at 80 London Road, Worcester, was closed today with signs in the bay windows advising customers of the closure.
A message in block capitals stuck to the inside of the glass reads: "Due to unforeseen circumstances The Mount Pleasant will be closed until further notice."
We have yet to clarify a cause for the closure or when the pub is likely to reopen although a woman who works nearby said she believed the pub has been closed for around three to four weeks.
The pub was popular with Worcester Warriors fans and would also show Six Nations games.
On the What Pub, the Mount Pleasant was described as: "The semi Official pub for the Worcester Warriors Rugby team and supporters."
We reported in 2014 how 'the specialist rugby pub was no stranger to seeing players from the home side popping in for pint but the appearance of away stars like Danny Cipriani and Mark Cueto was a real boost for the locals who snapped up the chance for photos and autographs'.
However, the signs have now been placed in all the front windows of the pub which was in darkness today (Monday).

The pub is also known for the striking Civil War 'Fort Royal' mural on the side of the building.
It was one of many different locations across the city which have been featured as a part of the Worcester Paint Festival, painted by famous graffiti artist Inkie, of Bristol, who has previously featured at the festival.
The pub is close to Fort Royal and the Commandery, famous for the part they played in the Battle of Worcester on September 3, 1651, the final battle of the English Civil War.
We have made efforts to contact the pub to get more information about the closure.
