CROWDS lined the streets as hundreds of youngsters donned their smartest uniform to take part in celebrations to mark a very special day.
Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Sea Scouts were all represented at Worcester's annual St George's Day Parade 2024 as the sunshine made an appearance today (Sunday).
Crowds, including proud parents and relatives, gathered in Angel Street before setting off to Worcester Cathedral for a special service to mark the day.
The sounds of drums filled Angel Street as the parade commenced and made its way along the High Street to Worcester Cathedral with people lining the parade route.
Children aged from four to older Scouts aged up to 25 marched in immaculate uniform with each troop holding their flag aloft.
The marching band then led the group into the cathedral for the service which started at 2.15pm.
The mayor of Worcester, Louis Stephen, said: "It is a fantastic event that happens every year, and this year has been bigger and better than before.
"It is great seeing all the children getting together—it is incredible and a life-forming experience for them.
"What a great thing to get children away from their screens and be part of the community.
"You can see a lot of pride in what they are doing here, and the parade is one of the biggest things on this day."
Even Worcester's iconic Sir Edward Elgar statue, near Cathedral Square, was appropriately dressed for the occasion in a Scout neckerchief and woggle.
St George's Day is traditionally celebrated on April 23 to mark England's patron saint.
He is also the patron saint of Scouting.
