A seven-piece band honouring the work of a legendary singer-songwriter are set for a performance in Worcester.

Band Hejira, which celebrates the unique style of Joni Mitchell's masterpiece works from the late '70s, are excited to announce their UK tour stop at The Marrs Bar on Thursday, June 27.

This band, made up of highly accomplished jazz musicians, is led by Hattie Whitehead, who not only recreates the strength of Mitchell’s vocals, but also echoes her distinctive guitar-playing style.

Whitehead, who grew up surrounded by music and musicians, most notably her renowned saxophonist father Tim, has channelled her influences and talents into mimicking Mitchell’s style.

Her noteworthy accomplishments include winning the 'Emerging Talent' award at the Glastonbury Festival in 2016.

The band will perform a selection of songs from Mitchell’s ‘jazz period’, drawing primarily from the live album, 'Shadows And Light’.

Audience members can expected to hear some favourites from Mitchell’s extensive back catalogue, including hits such as ‘Amelia’, ‘Woodstock', 'A Case Of You’, ’Song For Sharon’, and 'Edith And The Kingpin’.
