A 30-year-old man charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on a pensioner has been remanded in custody until his next hearing before a judge.
The suspect, Bobby Smith, 30, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a 72-year-old man during an alleged attack in Stalls Farm Road in Droitwich last Wednesday (April 10).
The case will next be heard on Monday, May 13 at Worcester Crown Court.
Smith appeared before magistrates on Saturday when he was remanded in custody.
The victim, who is stable, remains in hospital where he is receiving treatment for his injuries which include fractures to his spine, pelvis and shoulder.
Smith is of no fixed abode but has connections to Worcester, Evesham and Bromsgrove.
