A PERSON has been rescued after a house fire in Pershore.
Fire crews were called to the house fire with persons reported in Spion Kop, Pinvin in Pershore yesterday evening (April 10).
A firefighter fought the blaze with a hosereel and covering jet, and rescued one person from a smoke-filled ground floor flat.
A second person was handed over to paramedics to receive care.
Police also attended the incident.
A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Three Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Pershore, Worcester and Evesham Fire Stations – were called to a house fire with persons reported in Spion Kop, Pinvin, Pershore.
"One person was rescued from a smoke-filled ground floor flat by fire service personnel.
"A fire was fought with one firefighter wearing breathing apparatus and a hosereel and a covering jet deployed.
"A second casualty was handed over to the care of the ambulance service (log 3885) who attended along with police (log 546i).
"All persons were accounted for.
"The incident was marked as pending closure at 00:50."
West Mercia Police said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
"We attended a property fire at Spion Kop in Pinvin last night (10 April) just before midnight to assist the fire service.
"The fire is not being treated as suspicious."
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed two male patients were treated for smoke inhalation, with one conveyed to Worcester Royal Hospital.
"We were called to reports of a property fire on Spion Kop in Pinvin, Pershore at around 11.50pm.
"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Strensham were sent to the scene.
"On arrival, crews found two male patients. The first man was treated for smoke inhalation before being conveyed to Worcester Royal Hospital.
"The second man was also treated for smoke inhalation but did not wish to go to hospital so was given self-care advice and discharged at the scene."
