An innovative new online wellbeing checker for cancer patients has been launched by a charity.
Recognising that 58 per cent of people diagnosed with cancer feel their emotional needs are not catered to, Cancer Support UK has unveiled Cancer Compass, aimed at filling the void in patient care.
The tool, accessible for free on the charity's website, allows anyone living with cancer to assess their emotional well-being and connect with relevant support networks within seconds.

Built to be as user-friendly and accessible as possible, the tool aims to become a lifeline for the estimated 1.7 million cancer patients across the UK grappling with emotional distress as a result of cancer.
Cancer Support UK's CEO, Mark Guymer said: "We know that life during and after cancer can feel very overwhelming, and it can be difficult to know where to turn for support.
"We are acutely aware that there is a lack of awareness of the need for greater emotional support for people facing a diagnosis.
"Our Cancer Compass tool is incredibly easy to use and is designed to take the stress out of finding what support you need.
"By answering a few simple questions, people are directed to the most appropriate types of support for them."
Users of the tool will gain instant access to a range of services catered to their particular emotional needs.
This includes programmes such as the Cancer Coach, a free six-week programme providing tools and support to help those experiencing low mood or anxiety post-treatment.
One participant said: "The group provided me with a very safe and understanding environment to express my thoughts and concerns.
"I now have a better sense of purpose in adjusting to life after cancer treatment.
"Plus I learned some very useful tips in managing any challenges which may arise."
The tool also offers Cancer Kits packed with useful items to those receiving treatment.
One recipient said: "I think this is a wonderful thing you are doing.
"You don't know how much it meant to me getting my package from you guys.
"I was all alone battling this monster on my own and hadn't smiled until my Cancer Kit came to me."
