A MAN injured after a serious assault outside a Worcester pub is in a stable condition in hospital, police have revealed.

We have previously reported how two people were released on bail following a serious assault outside the Blackpole Inn in Blackpole in Worcester on Sunday.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The man is in a stable condition but remains in hospital."

A man in his 30s suffered a head wound and was taken to hospital following the assault, which happened in the car park of the pub between midnight and 1am.

Two men, aged 20 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of GBH and are helping police with their enquiries.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The two people arrested have been released on bail. 

"An extensive investigation continues and the witness appeal we released over the weekend is still live."

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses following the attack.

DI Mark Walters of the Major Investigation Unit said: “We would like to appeal for any witnesses to this incident to come forward and help our investigation.

“We understand there was a charity event on at the Blackpole Inn last night so anticipate there will be people who may have seen the assault and can assist.

“Anyone with information should call 101 and give the log number 27i of March 31.
