A MAN has been arrested after a crash closed the M5 motorway.
The 55-year-old was arrested on suspicion of driving while being unfit through alcohol and drugs after a crash on the M5 southbound junction 6 (Worcester).
A man also sustained injuries following the crash.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said, "We were called to a single-car collision on the M5 southbound junction 6 at around 12.55am this morning (April 2).
"A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while being unfit through drink/drugs.
"He has been released under investigation.
"The motorway was closed to clean up oil which had leaked from the collision."
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance added: "We were called at 12.43am to a road traffic collision involving one car on the M5 junction 6 South in Warndon, Worcester.
"One ambulance attended the scene.
"Upon arrival we found a man who was the driver of the car.
"He was assessed and had sustained minor injuries.
"He received self-care advice from ambulance staff before being discharged at the scene."
