A MAN pleaded guilty to stealing items an Ariana Grande perfume and attempting to break into four cars.
Joseph Smith, of Shap Drive in Worcester, also pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon in public after being found with a telescopic baton in Blanquettes Avenue.
The 36-year-old stole the Ariana Grande perfume, body wash gift set, bottle of Archers, and Lacoste aftershave, to the value of £150, from a car between December 22 and 23, 2023.
He also pleaded guilty to four counts of vehicle interference with the intention of theft of vehicle, part of it or anything carried inside which includes a Seat Leon, Toyota C-HR, Ford Focus and a Vauxhall Astra on December 23 last year - all in Worcester.
Smith was given a jail sentence of eight weeks suspended for six months for each of the four vehicle interference charges which run concurrently.
It was suspended because the defendant was seeking help from Cranstoun.
He was given no penalty for possessing the baton - though Worcester Magistrates Court ordered its forfeiture and destruction.
He must pay the theft victim £150 compensation.
