A KARAOKE night is due to take place at The Bridge Inn pub with the chance to scoop a £300 cash prize.

The karaoke night starts at 7pm and runs until midnight at the pub in Lowesmoor Terrace in Lowesmor, Worcester this Saturday (March 30).

The contest marks the five-year anniversary of the cash prize karaoke.

A spokesperson for the pub said: "We've given away over £30,000 in cash and prizes in five years.

"We were told originally it would never work, and I'd be bankrupt in three months by doing it. We still go strong to this day.

"This Saturday marks five years to the day since we started it. And to celebrate this we are giving away £300 cash prize (as opposed to our normal £100) and giving away up to £150 worth of drinks.

"As well as up to £200 worth of prizes in our share on Facebook draw.

The whole point is its a completely free event. People win prizes, on the hour, every hour, between 7pm - 11pm (although we go on till at least midnight), the final prize being the big money £300."
