AN E-scooter rider has ended up in court for riding carelessly after drinking when he was stopped near a city fast food restaurant.
Jack Sturgeon, who also had no licence or insurance, was caught riding in The Cross in Worcester city centre near the city's McDonald's.
The 20-year-old of Chestnut Walk in Worcester appeared at Worcester Magistrate Court on Tuesday where he admitted driving the black E-Scooter without due care and attention (careless driving/riding) on February 25.
He further admitted riding the scooter without insurance and without a licence and riding under the influence of alcohol. A breath test revealed 49mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, over the limit.
Sturgeon was fined £120 (reduced from £180) to reflect his guilty plea. He was also banned from driving for 12 months and fined a further £120 (reduced from £180) to reflect his guilty plea.
