The Curry's store in Evesham will be holding a late Easter BONANZA, to help raise funds for local charity, Evesham Adventure Playground Association.

Happening on Saturday, April 6, the store will host an easter egg hunt, easter colouring activities, "an old school American cruiser police car", a bake sale and a driving simulator set-up.

The company encourages stores to get involved within their local communities, by holding events such as this.

Joining the crew in December after nine and a half years with the company, new general manager, Sam Nobes said: "Its always something that I have wanted to do once I had got into a position like this.

Worcester News:

"We spoke to each other and put in some names and ideas forward, but it was unanimous.

"Evesham Adventure Playground do a lot for the community and they are in desperate need of more funding.

"We have a really good customer base, with so many people returning, that we have seen for so long .

"So hopefully this is the first of many events to help out more within our local community."

Evesham Adventure Playground describes themselves as "a play-based, environmentally-friendly local asset at the heart of the community".

Dave Boucker, programme manager for the charity said: "Its great to work with local businesses to support what is happening in their local area.

"Curry's is our local tech store and many of their staff have used the playground's services over the years.

"This event is a great opportunity to attract the local community to support the playground and its consultation around the development of the new community hub, whilst supporting Curry's community engagement at the same time."

The charity is currently in the consultation phase of building a new community hub as the current hub is outdated and far too small.

Mr Boucker said: "Footfall has been rising for quite some time now and the building was not built for so many.

"The space we have is now a limiting factor for the needs of the community.

"We hope the new hub will alleviate the issue, whilst also being more sustainable for the future."

Money raised by the Easter BONANZA will go towards funding the project.

Representatives from the charity will be in store to answer any questions that you may have.

So why not come down and join in, tasting the homemade cakes and cookies, all the while competing for the fastest lap time on the driving simulator.
