An award-winning stand-up circuit stalwart is set to stop off in Worcester on one of a series of extended dates of his tour.

Paul Foot will bring his Chortle Awards 2024 Best Show nominee 'Dissolve' to Huntingdon Hall on Friday, September 27.

Known as a "hero of the alternative comedy circuit" with a cult following, Foot's show promises a personal, surprising, and inspired stand-up show, giving fans the chance to see Foot in a more vulnerable and honest light.

The show also co-won Best Show at the (ISH) Edinburgh Comedy Awards and was nominated for the NextUp Comedy Award.

In 'Dissolve', Foot grapples with life's stresses: from mundane problems like rushed breakfasts and angry people, all while getting distracted and going off on tangents about subjects such as King Tutankhamun, The House of Lords, Sir Cliff Richard, and Jacob Rees-Mogg.

He also asks the audience to reflect on their personal identity and what would happen if all your problems, concerns and identity simply disappeared into thin air.

Foot said: "It’s been overwhelming to discover how much the show has touched people.

"I’m used to people saying how much they laughed at my shows but now I’m also hearing about how much it’s affected them emotionally.

"After one show, a man even rushed the stage. I thought he might be making an assassination attempt but it was just to give me a big hug."

He added: "It’s truly a rollercoaster for me to perform the show, to make people laugh, cry (sometimes), and perhaps think about the world a little differently.

"And I am so, so excited to bring the show to even more people with these extra dates."

With a career expanding over two decades, Foot has become a common presence on TV programmes such as 'Would I Lie To You?', 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and '8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown'.

Tickets for the Autumn leg of his tour, including the Worcester show, will go on sale online today (Friday, March 22) at 10am, on paulfoot.tv, seetickets.com and plosive.co.uk.
