In efforts to tackle loneliness in the community, a care home will open its doors weekly to elderly people who might usually eat alone.
Latimer Court Care Home in Worcester is inviting elderly residents to enjoy a three-course meal every Wednesday from March 27.
In addition to a meal, guests will have the chance to engage in friendly games and activities after dining.
The 'Don’t Dine Alone’ initiative, launched by Barchester Healthcare, aims to reach out to isolated or vulnerable people to reduce loneliness.
Donna Tustin, general manager at the care home, says: "Loneliness can be a big problem for elderly people, especially as the weather gets colder.
"Our doors are always open to new friends of the home."
