TEMPORARY traffic lights in place for roadworks was the reason for long delays on a busy main road in Worcester.
Motorists were stuck in a heavy traffic on London Road on Tuesday morning (March 19) with cars at a standstill for around 30 minutes.
The build up of traffic caused lengthy delays towards the A44 roundabout in Worcester.
A set of temporary traffic lights had been installed along the main road due to roadworks being conducted on Marlborough Street and Cromwell Crescent Lane.
Carriageway surfacing works were being carried out by Worcestershire County Council but have now been completed.
A spokesperson from Worcestershire County Council said: “The traffic delays on London Road yesterday were due to resurfacing works taking place on Marlborough Street and Cromwell Crescent Lane.
"The works have now been completed and we apologise for any disruption caused to journeys during the works.”
