A WORCESTER theatrical group is preparing to present a comedy in the city later this month.
The Swan Theatre Amateur Company (STAC) will perform Ronald Harwood’s Quartet in the Swan Theatre Studio from Wednesday, March 27 until Saturday, March 30 at 7.45pm.
But anyone who misses the show then will be able to catch it in the second run at The Coach House Theatre, Malvern, from Thursday, April 11 until Saturday, April 13 at 7.30pm plus a matinee at 2.30pm on the Saturday.
The story sees former opera singers Cecily, Reggie and Wilfred making the most of their autumn years in a retirement home for musicians.
They are looking forward to performing at the annual celebrations of Verdi’s birthday.
But their lives are disrupted by the arrival of new resident Jean, a true diva and Reggie’s ex-wife.
Tempers flare and long-held secrets are revealed as they come to terms with their differences.
This is a wickedly funny play about ageing and the hopes, fears and desires of the quartet.
Tickets are £14 for Worcester available from Worcester Theatres online, Huntingdon Hall box office on 01905 611427 or at The Swan Theatre, The Moors, from 7.15pm for that night’s performance subject to availability.
