BUS users are being warned of an upcoming diversion in Worcester due to a road closure.
First Bus has announced the diversions are due to a closure on Angel Street from Monday, April 8 for approximately 14 weeks.
It will mean services coming towards Worcester from Bath Road and London Road will need to divert via Cathedral and Deansway and access Crowngate Bus Station via The Butts.
City Walls Road will not be served for this period.
Services arriving from Lowesmoor will be diverting from St Nicholas’ Street via Foregate Street, Castle Street and access Crowngate Bus Station via Angel Place.
Services arriving from The Tything will be diverting via Castle Street and access Crowngate Bus Station via Angel Place.
Services arriving from the west of the City are unaffected by this.
First Bus is expecting severe delays in peak periods during this closure for all services affected.
It is part of the Worcester City future High Street improvements.
In 2021, the government announced that Worcester City Council’s bid was successful for funding from the Future High Street Fund.
The works will see millions of pounds in funding invested in the city centre until 2024 over a series of phases.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the works.
