The Worcester Lib Dems organised a nature walk as part of their 'Wild About Worcester' campaign.
They trekked a stretch of the twelve-mile Wild about Worcester Way, a route connecting fifteen green spaces in Worcester, and ended the walk at Waitrose for for tea and coffee.
The outing, which took place on Saturday, March 9, was led by Paul Snookes, co-founder of the Worcester Environmental Group (WEG).
Paul Snookes said: "We not only face a climate emergency, we also face a biodiversity collapse.
"In response WEG’s amazing volunteers are bringing hope for a better future."
Snookes, alongside WLG chairperson, Alison Morgan, founded the Worcester Environmental Group (WEG) in 2021 to promote biodiversity and connect locals with nature.
Alison Morgan was extremely happy with the event, adding: "I was very pleased the walk was a success and so well attended.
"It's important to understand the world around us so we can take better care of it.
"Further guided walks are planned for later in the year.
"Together we can thrive in a flourishing natural environment."
Walkers encountered diverse habitats and wildlife, from hay meadows and ponds to traditional orchards, teeming with a rich array of creatures such as bees, hedgehogs, otters, and bats.
Lib Dem campaigner, Jon Taylor said: "Thank you so much to Paul for taking us on a guided tour of part of the Wild about Worcester way.
"Paul was, of course, excellent and there was a great turnout.”
