NEW drone footage shows work progressing on plans to create a new town centre park at a former Woolworths site.
The once popular high street store, which was closed in 2008, was demolished along with other shops including the old Megavalue, Poundland, and Sigma Aquatics on Worcester Street, Kidderminster.
It's to make way for a new open space in the town centre. The proposed public park will feature sloping grass terraces, trees, planting, seating, walls and new lighting.
A children's play area and a pavilion building planned to be used for a café, are also set to be built.
The Kidderminster Drone Facebook page has been filming the progress of the work. The former shop buildings have now been completely demolished.
North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration submitted a planning application back in August 2023, with funding for the project being provided by the government's Future High Streets Fund (FHSF).
