A dilapidated flat could be refurbished as an extension to a St John’s community centre.
The empty flat is on the first floor of Comer Gardens Institute, which is used by a number of groups including Focal Pointe Dance School.
The building is owned by the city council, which is keen to ensure it is both safe and in use. The plan would be to strengthen the floor so the first floor can be used as a dance studio.
Worcester City Council’s communities committee will be asked this week to approve the plans.
The council originally had a budget of £140,000 for the work but now estimates it will cost £168,000.
