AN aspiring wildlife photographer has been offered the chance to help look after endangered turtles in Mexico next year.
Tasha Lea will spend two weeks working at a turtle conservation site after being selected from a large group of girls that applied to Girlguiding Worcestershire International Opportunities (INTOPS).
The year nine Nunnery Wood High School pupil said she aspires to be a wildlife photographer or biologist after leaving school as she enjoys being outside, taking photographs and doing as much as she can to help the environment.
In school she is an eco-representative for her form and attends weekly eco club sessions, where she learns more about looking after the environment, completes environmental projects and works on the school allotment.
Tasha is now fundraising for the trip in August, in which she hopes to also be able to practise her Spanish.
The trip will cost £3,000 for flights, accommodation, food, in country travel, activities, insurance and briefing weekends.
To raise money for her expedition the entrepreneurial student has been busy selling items at car-boots and table-top sales.
She also makes various items to sell including bracelets, using her sewing machine to make hair scrunchies and creating an adapted version of a noughts and crosses game using stones as well as painting positivity stones and animal paperweights.
