A pub in St John’s has been given retrospective planning permission for a wooden shelter in its car park.
The Berkeley Arms built the outdoor seating area in lockdown so its customers could keep social distancing when it reopened.
The area is still used now by customers, mainly in the summer months.
An application for planning permission received one objection from a neighbour who called the shelter an “eyesore”.
But city planners said it “does not detract unacceptably from the character of the surrounding area”.
