PUPILS across Worcestershire dressed up as their favourite book characters for World Book Day.
Harry Potter, Matilda and Spider-Man were among the popular characters that youngsters opted for for their dress-up days.
Schools across the UK held their own World Book Day activities on and leading up to the event with booksellers also hosting events and activities.
Families also celebrated the occasion at home with the World Book Day website offering many activity ideas.
This year the big day was Thursday, March 7.
World Book Day was created by UNESCO back in 1995 as a "worldwide celebration of books and reading."
It is celebrated in more than 100 countries around the world including the UK and Ireland.
The first event in the UK and Ireland took place in 1997.
