A MAIN road in Worcester will close for several hours this evening (March 6) for the removal of flood pumps.
Hylton Road, Worcester will be closed from 7pm for around three hours to remove flood pumps.
Worcestershire Highways teams will be on site to remove the flood pumps with traffic diverted via Henwick Road.
Foot and cycle access will remain open while the road remains closed to vehicles.
The River Severn has breached its banks at various times in the early part of this year, with the Environment Agency having flood warnings on at various times - but with the threat of flooding now gone the pumps are now being removed.
The Environment Agency said the river level peaked on Friday, February 23, after heavy rainfall.
At 6pm on Wednesday, (March 6) the level at Diglis; Barbourne; Shelley Close and Perdiswell is steady.
The river level at Kempsey Yacht Club was described as falling.
