A 75-year-old bishop shows no signs of slowing down.
Evesham-based The Rt Rev Robert Paterson decided to fundraise by cycling 75 kilometres on his 75th birthday.
The honorary Assistant Bishop for the Diocese of Worcester is supporting charity Practical Action and more than £1,300 has already been donated.
The Rt Rev Paterson, who was Bishop of Sodor and Man covering the Isle of Man from 2008 until 2016, said: “Three months ago I had what seemed like a good idea - cycle 75 kilometres on or around my 75th birthday.
“The nearer this came, the less attractive the notion became but I couldn’t retract because I told some people at Christmas!
“That kind of distance for a serious cyclist is a stroll in the park but, for me, an amateur among amateurs, it wasn’t as easy, to say the least!
“However, I did complete 75 kilometres on my bike on a cold and windy 75th birthday.”
Most of the challenge for The Rt Rev Paterson took place at Evesham VeloPark, Cheltenham Road, which opened in late 2022.
Rugby-based charity Practical Action is an international development group, building sustainable lives and livelihoods with people on the frontlines of poverty and climate change.
It works alongside communities to develop sustainable, locally-owned solutions for agriculture, water and waste management, climate resilience and clean energy.
