RESIDENTS across Worcestershire woke up to a winter wonderland after parts of the county received snowfall.
It comes after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow across the county and said there was a risk of disruption to transport and infrastructure.
Parents and children were captured enjoying the snow today (Saturday), with some heading to the Malvern Hills to go sledging.
Others had ventured out on walks to enjoy the snow across the Malvern Hills or in neighbouring parks.
One walker, Sarah Roufell from Walking the Hills, said the Malvern Hills looked completely different to its usual landscape.
She said: "It was magical, it was amazing.
"It was really quiet. I was on one of the walking route guides supplied by Walking the Hills.
"I was looking at the footprints in the landscape and how different it looked in the snow.
"It was quite cold!"
The cold air also led people to walk not just on national landscapes but to local cafes and bakeries to warm up.
The owners of Le Delice of Malvern, Angela and Jean-Michel Vilain, said it had been a very busy start this morning.
Mrs Vilain said: "It has been extra busy this morning with people having woken up early with excitement.
"They have all been in to buy an almond croissant!"
However, not all businesses reaped the benefit of a snow day, and Pershore Seafoods was forced to close due to extreme snow.
A spokesperson for the business said: "Due to extreme snow and poor road conditions in the forecast, the Pershore shop is closed today."
Worcester received small snow flurries today, and it soon melted by mid-afternoon.
City residents had captured pictures of their gardens with a light sprinkle of snow and one resident even captured a postperson delivering mail.
Malvern Cops was also caught up in the snow, and one officer was pictured cycling with snow falling around him.
PCSO Kevin Tudge said: "I have been out on cycle patrol of the patch today, please take care if you are venturing out as some of the pavements are slippy underfoot."
The Met Office has warned that residents across Worcestershire may experience more snow later this evening.
A spokesperson said: "Rain, sleet and snow are predicted, soon clearing this evening to leave a drier night with clear spells.
"Winds turning lighter, allowing for mist, fog and frost patches to develop."
