PICTURES have shown the extent of the damage caused by a burst water main after it was labelled "a risk to road users".
Part of Borrowdale Drive and Langdale Drive has been closed since the early hours of this morning after a water main burst.
Part of the road had begun to bulge and gushes of water can be seen shooting from the ground.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said a sinkhole has formed, which is "a risk to road users".
Pictures from the scene show bits of debris surrounding the hole from which the water is sprouting, and dirt has covered sections of the road.
A stream of water is trickling down Langdale Drive, and a pool of water has formed at the top of the road.
Residents in the area claim the incident has been ongoing since 4am this morning (Thursday).
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The road is closed because of a sinkhole that is a risk to road users.
"We received a call about it around 6am this morning (February 22)."
Road users have been urged to avoid the area and use a diversion route that goes around what neighbours call The Horse Shoe on Langdale Drive, which goes around the burst main.
A spokesperson for Worcestershire Highways said: "A burst water main in Warndon, Worcester - Langdale Drive closed from mini-roundabout to Windermere Drive.
"Please allow extra journey time through this area."
The First Worcester service 35 has now returned back to normal after a diversion route was put in place through Lowesmoor via Tolladine Road and Ambleside.
The road remains closed and Severn Trent is on the scene.
