Worcestershire locals are being invited to participate in a air-quality survey.

The survey aims to collect community feedback to improve air quality monitoring and enhance management schemes.

Its goal is to aid WRS in pinpointing air quality trouble spots and ensure that the service's initiatives corresponds to the needs and priorities of local people.

26 real-time air-quality monitors have been installed across Worcestershire as part of a three-year scheme backed by DEFRA to improve local air quality.

Simon Wilkes, head of WRS, said: "Understanding what drives the behaviour of the residents and visitors is absolutely vital for us to help inform our efforts to create a healthier living environment for everyone in Worcestershire.

"Please do take the time to complete this survey and share your views."

Councillor Rick Deller, executive board member for housing and regulatory services on the Wychavon District Council, said: "I am looking forward to hearing feedback from our residents about the air quality in our district.

"One of the reasons I moved to the area was because of the air quality and I am passionate to hear the community’s thoughts.

"It will help us identify any problematic areas which would really make a difference to people of all ages in the district, and it’ll take just 10 minutes."

Residents are encouraged to voice their thoughts by visiting the WRS website.

The survey, which should take no more than 10 minutes, will be available until 11pm on May 12.

It covers numerous aspects of air quality, including perceptions, worries, and ideas for improvements.

The county-wide initiative is being executed jointly by Worcestershire County Council’s Public Health Team and Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS).
