The University of Worcester wants to build a new temporary car park at its St John’s Campus.
The former Bredon Building is due to be demolished in May, at the end of the current academic year.
And the university wants to use some of that land to create extra parking spaces at the campus.
According to plans submitted to Worcester City Council, “the proposed temporary car park will sit immediately adjacent to, and supplement, existing car parking areas including temporary and permanent car parking within the campus”.
Spaces would not be formally marked out and the car park would not be lit.
The university is seeking permission to use the land for car parking for five years, while it works on a proposal for the permanent redevelopment of the site.
