EVESHAM retirees, Peter and Katrina have sold their care agency after serving the community for 39 years.
Peter, aged 76, and Katrina Davidson, 74, have sold T.L.C Home Care Services, which is based in Evesham, to make more time for friends and family.
The couple, who celebrated their 50th golden anniversary two years ago, have worked in healthcare for 55 years.
They estimate that during that time they have cared for over several thousand patients and employed at least 500 carers.
The couple, who met whilst both doing a hospital administration qualification, came to Evesham when Peter got a job at Avonside Health Centre.
Katrina said, "We wanted to thank all the wonderful staff who worked with us over the past 22 years, and prior to that, our two nursing homes in Evesham and Badsey from 1985 - 2002."
"It was an honour and a privilege working with, and caring for, our local community."
The couple wanted to publicly thank their staff as they felt that not enough credit is given to care workers.
Person Centred Care Services Ltd is taking over the company.
The couple's advice was: "We really do wish them the best of luck, as long as they remember to look after the people who look after them they'll be just fine."
Katrina said they would spend their retirement on trips to Vancouver Island, where they enjoy watching whales and orcas.
They added without the help, support and passion for care from the people who worked for them, they would not have been able to keep the company going as long as they did.
They also wanted to thank all the clients and relatives who chose to use their services throughout the years.
