A RETIREE from Stow-on-the-Wold has written a children's book tackling the issue of climate change.
Rozlyn Blackwell, a 77 year-old former airfield ground staff worker, has written a book titled "Rubbish & Things, If we pollute the planet we won't win."
Having written short stories for her granddaughters before, this is the first time Mrs Blackwell has had one of her stories published.
Taking her roughly a year to write it, Rozlyn was asked to write the book by a friend of her daughter who works at Sandcastles Nurseries in Hadleigh, Essex.
Following a magical wisp who convinces children to start helping the environment after they see the damage being done to nature and animals.
The children then change their behaviour and start picking up their litter.
Written as a rhyming picture book, the target age ranges from two to six.
Mrs Blackwell said, "I was asked because my daughter said she couldn't find any book which teaches children to pick up their litter."
Rozlyn also donated a few copies of the book to the Cotswold Primary School, who she says supported her young grandchildren when they were recently evacuated after the October 7 attacks in Israel.
Mrs Blackwell also said she was supported by the Clean and Green team from the Cotswold District Council.
